Pacific Capital Partners is excited to announce that, acting through a US-based investment affiliate (Black Sea Entertainment, LLC), it has participated in the analysis, due diligence, negotiation, and structuring of an investment in a UK-based music festival (Black Deer Festival). Black Deer is a new Americana & Country Music Festival held in Eridge Park (a village and historic park located in East Sussex, England). The largest festival of its kind in Europe (described by the founders as “a “joyous celebration of Americana”), and in 2022 highlights headline acts like James and Van Morrison, as well as Black Sea Entertainment managed artist Franky Perez. Black Sea Entertainment’s music division – Black Sea Music – offers a record label as well as a services entity to release and market music, provide artist management, organize and run tours and monetize publishing and master assets for artists and songwriters signed to the company worldwide. The team is headed by Barry Taylor, who has decades of extensive music industry experience in all areas, running his own personal management business and successfully building, diversifying and maintaining artist careers.
Ini Ghidirmic, director of Pacific Capital Partners, stated that “the investment was challenging due to the many uncertainties related to COVID as well as market volatilities stemming from recent geopolitical tensions in Europe. The relevant parties had to rely on several assumption in order to settle on a long term business plan and financial projection. Together, we hope that the teams will grow not only the BDF brand globally but that this platform will also be an outlet for PCP’s beverages and consumer goods division – FMR Brands.“
